Basic conditions of insurance against loss of income

Total periodic incapacity means the Insured’s total inability to perform an occupation, which begins within twelve months from the date of the Personal Injury Accident or from the date of manifestation of Disease, and, in light of current medical knowledge, the Insured’s condition gives hope for the Insured to regain the ability to work in an occupation.

Total periodic inability to work as a result of illness or accident is determined by the fact of the occurrence of an event meeting the definition contained in the Terms and Conditions of Insurance and formal documentation of the occurrence of temporary inability to work.

The documents to be honored are a sick leave (e-call) together with a medical certificate, medical records, hospital discharge, certificate of rehabilitation benefit or a certificate of temporary inability to work, confirming the fact of total periodic inability to earn.

Note that at the time of payment of the benefit, the Insured signs a statement that he did not work in his profession during the period. In case of doubts about the validity of the claim, the Insurer has the right to summon the Insured before a medical board or order a medical opinion in absentia on the basis of the medical records sent.

Occupational risk classes (for premium calculation)

Class I Persons engaged exclusively in clerical, white-collar or managerial work and non-workers

Class II Persons performing work involving manual activities without the use of machinery, and persons whose work depends on driving

Class III Persons performing physical work requiring the use of machinery

Class IV Persons engaged in physical labor requiring the use of or being in the immediate vicinity of heavy or dangerous machinery, or the use of dangerous tools

Class V Persons performing work in high-risk conditions – on the seas, oceans, underwater, underground and work that poses a risk of falling from a height of more than two meters, rescue services, aircraft crews

The benefit may not exceed 65% of the Insured's monthly income from his profession, not more than the amount of the sum insured.

Waiting period for benefit related to Accident: 14 days - payable from day 15. Waiting period for Sickness-related benefit: 21 days - payable from the 22nd day.

The benefit for a period of less than a full month will be calculated in proportion to the monthly benefit specified in the Policy at a daily rate of 1/30 of the monthly benefit.

Occupational risk class I - insured persons may be only those who perform only clerical, white-collar or managerial work and those who do not work.

The indemnity period in income insurance is 24 months. The contract can be concluded for a period of 12 months.

Limitations of liability in income insurance

Risk of active living (you need to indicate at the application stage that it is to be included):

  1. Cave exploration (including cave diving),
  2. Mountaineering off-trail (including using ropes),
  3. gravity cycling,
  4. Mountain kayaking or rafting,
  5. Diving with an aqualung below thirty meters deep or free diving below ten meters deep,
  6. żeglarity of the sea and ocean as a crew member,
  7. horseback riding,
  8. horse jumping over obstacles,
  9. Skiing or snowboarding using a helicopter,
  10. Skiing or snowboarding off designated trails, except for skiing under the supervision of a qualified instructor employed at a local ski resort,
  11. hunting with firearms,
  12. ATV riding,
  13. Riding a motorcycle with an engine displacement of more than 125 cc, except for riding as part of a profession


Exclusions of liability in income insurance

  1. War, warfare, civil unrest.
  2. Intentional exposure of the insured to a particularly high risk of loss of life (with the exception of attempting to save human life).
  3. Being under the influence of alcohol at a concentration of more than 0.5 per mille or under the influence of drugs, narcotics or other pharmacological substances with similar effects, unless they were taken in accordance with the recommendations of an authorized physician who is not a member of the Insured’s family.
  4. The Insured’s illness or injury, or the consequences thereof, which was the subject of medical consultation or treatment under the supervision of a physician prior to the conclusion of the insurance contract.
  5. Pregnancy or childbirth and any complications arising from pregnancy and childbirth.
  6. Osteoarthritis of the spine or joints, arthritis or any other degenerative process involving the spine, joints, bones, muscles, tendons or ligaments.
  7. The Insured’s horseback riding in the context of racing, regardless of the type of racing, including training for races and riding at racetracks.
  8. Participation of the Insured in motor vehicle races or rallies of any kind, including training for races or rallies.
  9. Sports practiced by the Insured professionally, participation in sporting events with the intention of winning prize money.
  10. Neurosis, psychoneurosis, psychopathy or psychosis, anxiety, stress, exhaustion, mental illness or emotional upset of any type. Here also depression, etc.
