The process of issuing a policy is fully automatic. In order to take out a policy, it is necessary to go through 5 steps of the process. In step 5, on the summary, you move to payment. The system redirects to the payment gateway at Autopay S.A. (formerly Blue Media S.A.).

Once payment is made, the system automatically generates and sends to your email inbox the policy with the application, the certificate in English and the General Terms and Conditions of Insurance. The entire process, from positive payment, should not take more than 3 minutes.

In addition, an SMS password is sent to the phone number provided. The policy and the application are secured documents.

Our solution is fully automated. The policy is generated and sent to your email inbox after payment is made through the Autopay S.A. system. (formerly Blue Media S.A.).

Due to the condition set in the system in this way, currently only a positive payment in Autopay S.A. allows the generation of a policy.

Autopay S.A. currently allows you to make payment in the form of: blik, online transfer (23 banks) and “Transfer data”

Yes. We send such a certificate in a separate email, after receiving such a request from you.

Report it to us by email or via chat.

The sum insured is converted according to the exchange rate of the National Bank of Poland on the day the policy is issued.

You will receive a reminder message from us before your insurance expires. We will direct you to a calculator where there will be an option to renew your policy.

After purchasing the policy and paying for it, you will receive documents in the mail – the policy in Polish and the certificate – in Polish and English. You will have no problem presenting them to a foreign contractor.

An insurance policy is a document confirming the conclusion of an insurance contract between the insurer and the insured, specifying the terms of insurance and the scope of coverage. A VAT invoice, on the other hand, is a document issued by a seller to document a transaction for the sale of goods or services subject to VAT.

Key aspects:

  1. Insurance vs. VAT:
    • Insurance services in Poland are exempt from VAT under Article 43(1)(37) of the VAT Act. This means that the issuance of a policy does not entail a VAT invoice.
    • In place of a VAT invoice, insurers issue accounting documents (e.g., debit notes) that confirm payment of the insurance premium.
  2. Regulations:
    • According to Article 809 §1 of the Civil Code, a policy is a document confirming the conclusion of an insurance contract.
    • If the insurance premium is accounted for in the company (e.g., a deductible expense), the accounting document can be the policy along with confirmation of premium payment.

Practice:

If you need an accounting document for billing, then an insurance policy with proof of premium payment is perfectly sufficient.

The password, which is needed to open the policy, is sent via SMS to the phone number provided at the time of purchase.

Loss of income insurance is aimed at business people – those who are under 65 years of age

Loss of income insurance for a programmer works in case of illness and accident.

It is not possible to set a single policy price from the top down. The premium depends on several factors: the age of the insured, monthly earnings and risk class.

Risk class is a factor that is taken into account when calculating the premium. Insurers distinguish 5 classes. You can read more about it at the following link: https://ubezpieczenieit.pl/ubezpieczenia/ubezpieczenie-utraty-dochodu

The cost of insurance depends on a number of factors – including the main business area (software development, consulting services, etc.), annual revenues, and the amount of insurance. It is impossible to answer the question of cost unequivocally. On our website: https://oc.ubezpieczenieit.pl/kalkulator in 15 seconds you will calculate the premium for professional liability insurance for IT.

In the next steps, you can add more products (General Liability, Cyber) or extend coverage to the US and Canada.

If you have received an insurance requirement from your client, you need information about the requirements, particularly the limits of liability and coverage. This is basic information that will allow you to fill in the necessary fields in the application.

When operating in the IT industry, more than 90% of cases require professional liability insurance (Professional Indemnity/Professional Liability/Errors&Omissions Liability).

Unfortunately, it is not possible to take out insurance for a period shorter than 1 year.

The application is necessary to make a sound assessment of the risks associated with your business and toverifying whether our solution is for you.

To make sure your policy meets contractual requirements, you must carefully read the section of the insurance requirements document. A programmer’s/IT company’s liability policy provides comprehensive coverage for errors and misconduct at work. The coverage provided by Chubb is very broad, so there is a good chance that it will be suitable for you as well.

Remember – if you sign a contract with a contractor from the US or Canada, you need to extend the territorial scope of the policy to include these countries. You can do this at step 4 of the purchasing process.

If you would like to verify the requirements with our specialists – contact us on chat, email us or call us – https://ubezpieczenieit.pl/kontakt

Retroactive date (another name: start/back date):

The retroactive date in a professional liability policy is the start date of the coverage period in the first such policy, as long as there is continuity of coverage (there were no breaks in coverage).

Otherwise:

Retroactive date – the date indicated in the policy that represents the beginning of the period during which covered errors may occur.

Professional Liability Insurance (Programmer’s Liability Insurance/IT Professional Liability Insurance) is the backbone of protection for IT companies. It is the one that is responsible for damages resulting from errors in work related to IT services. It covers third-party claims related to the occurrence of financial losses (loss of profit, increased costs of doing business) in connection with the performance of IT professional activities (including but not limited to software design, programming and delivery, IT consulting services, software installation, IT equipment maintenance, data processing, IT project management, IT training services, etc.).

Business liability insurance is also responsible for covering third-party claims. This time, however, we are talking about property damage and personal injury arising in connection with the conduct of business activities (running an office, traveling to conferences and other meetings, using leased property, hiring employees and the resulting liability, etc.).

Cyber insurance protects against the effects of hacking attacks, data loss and damage to a company’s reputation. It also offers support in restoring operations after a cyber incident.

Professional liability insurance typically provides coverage for claims related to project delays, as long as the delays are due to prior covered events – e.g., accidental deletion of documents, accidental data leakage, etc.

To the best of our knowledge, in Poland, only Chubb (and therefore our supplier) pays for the mistake of underestimating completion dates. In the event of a claim, the insurer investigates whether the underestimation was a simple mistake or a deliberate act aimed at winning the tender. Willful misconduct is covered only for the activities of the insured’s employees (management – not).

The insurer always verifies the claim in at least three respects:

(a) Whether the event falls within the scope of protection.

(b) Whether the claim is valid in terms of IT liability.

(c) Whether the value of the claim is not overstated.

A meticulous analysis is able to protect the insurer from possible extortion attempts.

Mere underestimation of price is not covered under Professional Liability. The insurance is designed to protect third-party claims and damages/losses, that your company may cause to third parties (e.g., to its customers in connection with the performance of a service for them).
